Trunnion Bar or Round Bar? Selecting the Correct Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System
Question:
just received your Curt receiver and should get the Tekonsha controller today, Looking at the following Fastway hitches: FA94-00-1061 FA92-00-1000 want to order one of these today but some come / without the ball or the shank so comparing them what is the difference between them if the ball or shank is not included? They seem to have the same tow wt and tongue capacity....need to order today so appreciate any help or reply.... 2004 Denali / trailer tongue wt is 610# and dry wt is 6200# Thanks again

Unless you are worried about ground clearance I recommend you go with the round bar system. The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control item # FA94-00-1061 is a round bar system that includes a 2" hitch ball. Round bar systems are easier to install and are typically used for lighter weight capacities like your setup.
The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control item # FA92-00-1000 is a trunnion system that does not include a hitch ball. You would need to purchase your own we offer a 2" ball item # C69FR or a 2 5/16" ball item # EQ91-00-6100 both are rated for 10,000 lbs and are designed for weight distribution systems. The head on trunnion bar units does not come down and the bars do not stick out of the bottom, so there are less ground clearance issues. This can be ideal for low sitting trailers such as horse trailers. They are more difficult to install and typically cost more than round bar systems.
I have linked a FAQ article on weight distribution systems for you to check out.
