For your 2021 Honda Pilot I recommend going with the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 due to it being an extremely reliable controller with great features like an easy to read LCD screen, and built in diagnostics that are easy to read and understand. This is a proprtional controller meaning the built in inertia sensor detects the intensity that you apply the brakes in your vehicle, and sends the same braking intensity to the electric brakes on your trailer for smooth, controlled braking.
Now when it comes to installing this controller that will be dependent on if your vehicle has the factory tow package or not.
If your Pilot has the factory tow package which includes a factory 7-way connector then all you will need is the Plug-in Wiring Adapter # 3070-P which will plug into the factory trailer brake controller port underneath the dash of your vehicle, and will take care of all of the wiring needed.
If your Pilot does NOT have the factory tow package you will need to add the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118286 which will give you a fully functional 7-way connector, and then the # 3070-P to complete the install.
