Is Rear Bumper Reinstalled or Discarded During EcoHitch Installation on 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan
Question:
Is the stock rear bumper retained and installed in place over this hitch, or is it omitted altogether?

In order to install the # 306-X7395 EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver on your 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan you will need to remove the bumper fascia as well as the bumper cross member.
The # 306-X7395 will replace the cross member and the bumper fascia will be reinstalled over the hitch. You will not reattach the bumper cross member. I recommend saving it should you need it for some reason at a later time.
This Class III hitch has a maximum gross trailer weight of 5,000 lbs and tongue weight of 750 lbs. The hidden cross tube leaves only the receiver visible beneath your rear bumper.
If you plan on doing some towing, I recommend the # 118811 Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for your wiring needs. This wiring harness provides a 4-way connection and connects quickly and easily to connection points in your rear cargo area.
