Will 60-Inch Yakima HD Crossbars Work on a Overhaul HD Rack for a 2015 RAM 1500 (6-1/2 Ft. Bed)?

2015 Ram 2500 Lariat, Crew Cab with 6.5foot bed I would like to know the minimum size crossbar one could get away with in the lowered position. I realize 68inch and 78inch are the recommended lengths but it seems, from the videos and photos, that you might be able to get away with a 60inch if you really wanted to tighten things up. Has anyone tried this length crossbar to see if it would work on a fullsize? They are too expensive to just purchase and experiment so your feedback would be appreciated. Could you discuss whether this would be an option with and without the Retrax cover? Initially I would be trying this without a cover. Thank you.

I have a an answer for you. I confirmed with Yakima that they recommend 68 inches of crossbar space (in any position) on the OverHaul HD Crossbars # Y01151-58 for the 6-1/2 foot bed (without RamBox) 2015 Ram 2500. The installation teams test the length of the crossbars for safety and usability reasons. With that being said, we cannot confirm for sure whether other neighbors have had success with 60-inch Yakima HD crossbars on their Overhaul setups.

As far as the compatibility with the Retrax tonneau cover, the Yakima OverHaul HD # Y01151-58 will work with the RetraxONE XR # RTT-60232 and the Retrax PRO XR # RTT-90232 on your 2015 RAM 2500 (6-1/2 ft. bed without RamBox).
