After confirming with Firestone on their Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2304, this kit will only work on your 2001 Toyota Tacoma 2 wheel drive if it is a Pre-Runner. If it is not a Pre-Runner the kit will not fit your Tacoma.
The Air Lift Ride Control Air Helper Springs # AL59503 are confirmed by Air Lift to fit your Tacoma. This kit will work with all the 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive versions that are not lifted including the Pre-Runner. This kit has a capacity of up to 2,000lbs with an adjustable air pressure from 5-100 psi.
I recommend the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System # AL74000EZ to work with the air bags. This kit will allow you to control the air pressure from either the wireless remote or your smartphone via the Air Lift app. You can program in up to 3 presets to allow for quick changes. And the smart compressor will monitor the air pressure to within 3 psi of you setting to safely keep your air bags at the right pressure.
