Stainless Steel Trailer Hitch Balls That Include a Stainless Washer and Nut

why is it that none of the stainless steel hitch balls come with stainless steel nut and lock washer? the whole point of stainless ball and aluminum ball mount, both of which Ive purchased on etrailer more than once is to not rust. But it does rust. At the nut/washer. Is it an issue of strength? Tell your suppliers they need to figure this out - I want a 100 rust-proof setup, not 90. Thanks.

You are correct, the nut and washer of the 2 inch hitch ball #40083 are zinc coated whereas the rest of the ball is stainless steel.

So long as the hitch balls have the same diameter shank then they will use the same size nut. For example, the 1-7/8" Hitch Ball #C40051 and 2" Hitch Ball #C40004 both have a 1" diameter shank so they will use the same nut.
