Bump Stop Helper Springs Recommended for 5th Wheel Towing With 2016 Ford F250 4x4

Question:

I have 16 F 250 diesel,4x4 pulling a 37 ft 5th wheel, 12,900 lbs empty. I have a super glide 16 k capacity hitch. Obviously the truck sags, and wondering which timbren product your experts recommend? The aforementioned kit above, or the heavier duty kit ?.Ty for your help

To counteract the rear end sag caused by the 2500-3000 lb pin weight of your 5th wheel, a bump stop replacement type helper spring is a great choice. No adjustment needed, nothing to leak or puncture. No need to inflate/deflate until you find that sweet spot, and they won't have any effect on your ride quality when you're not towing or hauling.

The Timbren # TFR250SDG is a great product, but the 8600 lbs of additional support it provides would be overkill for your needs, in my opinion. You'd have a pretty stiff ride when towing which you'd likely find uncomfortable. There are better options available.

I'd prefer to see you use the SumoSprings Rebel, part # SS96MR which provides up to 5000 lbs of additional support, but is made of a more pliable material that will provide better ride quality while towing. This system is compatible with an in-bed hitch, so it'll work great with your existing 5th wheel hitch.
