Is There A Better Roof Rack Solution For A 2011 Toyota Corolla Than My Yakima Q-Towers

Question:

Im looking to install roof tracks on my 2011 Toyota Corolla 4 door for a permanent roof rack system. I will be using the roof rack to transport two Necky sea kayaks. Ive been using a clip based Yakima system for many years but Ive had issues with the towers slipping during transit. Most recently the metal shell on a QTower cracked and dislodged the two kayaks while I was driving! Since the car has 113,000 miles and I plan on keeping it for many more years, Im not concerned about resale value. Im more concerned about safety! I know that you carry the Rhino Rack tracks. Im aware that Yakima has a type of track as well. Hope you can help with identifying an appropriate track and compatible rack system.

The aftermarket roof tracks, such as the Rhino-Rack RT-Style Roof Rack Tracks - Rivet Mount - 39-3/16" Long - Qty 2, part # RRRTS534, are not test fit for vehicles. The rack manufacturers recommend that you to a garage that specializes in aftermarket body work to do the installation. It will be up to the shop you take your 2011 Toyota Corolla to determine whether or not the Rhino-Rack RT Style Roof Rack will fit your vehicle.

If you get the OK for the Rhino Rack tracks you will need these parts for your rack;

SkyLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars - Fixed Mounting Points, Flush Rails, and Track Systems - Qty 4, part # Y53TR,
Two sets of the Landing Pad 1 for Yakima SkyLine and Control Towers - Qty 2, part # Y00221, and the
RoundBar SL Adapter for Yakima BaseLine, SkyLine, TimberLine, and RidgeLine Towers - Qty 4, part # Y03536.

You will still be able to use your Yakima round crossbars and your Yakima SKS lock cores. The Landing Pads will fit in the Rhino Rack tracks and the Yakima Skyline Towers will attach to the Landing Pads. You will need the RoundBar SL Adapter to use your existing round crossbars with the new tower system. In the case that you do not get the go ahead to install the Rhino Rack tracks, I still have a solution for you.

Yakima has redesigned their tower system, so you will need some new parts. You will still be able to use your Yakima round crossbars and your Yakima SKS lock cores. This system will need the following;

BaseLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars - Naked Roofs - Qty 4, part # Y28TR,
BaseClip Fit Kit for Yakima BaseLine Roof Rack Towers - Qty 2, part # Y06144,
BaseClip Fit Kit for Yakima BaseLine Roof Rack Towers - Qty 2, part # Y06153, and the
RoundBar SL Adapter for Yakima BaseLine, SkyLine, TimberLine, and RidgeLine Towers - Qty 4, part # Y03536.

The Yakima BaseLine Towers have two new adjustments not found on the old Yakima Q-Towers, pitch and toe. If you installed your previous Yakima roof rack you will not have a problem with this installation. It will have additional steps, but when you are done your roof rack will be more secure than it was with the Q-Towers. I am speaking from experience, there is a noticeable difference between the security of the Q-Towers and the improved BaseLine system. After that the same thing applies as before, you can use the Yakima SKS lock cores and with the RoundBar SL Adapter you can still use your round crossbars.

I have included a product description links and video review links below.
