Can I Replace One Of My Torsion Axles With A Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System?
Question:
Compatability Can I replace one axel in a tandem 20 ft car hauler cargo mate 2005 at a time and still use it then replace the other when I can afford to? It has 5k torsion axels and one was bent at spindle housing. As u can see if spent a lot to just get this trailer road worth already. Had a lot of damage

I recommend replacing both axles at the same time on your 2005 Cargo Mate Car Hauler. The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System # ASR5200S04 is going to have its own suspension characteristics that will be different than the torsion axles that are currently on your car hauler. This could lead to an undesirable ride for the trailer and for tires to wear differently since the suspension is not matched. It could also cause one of the axle systems to be more easily damaged.
I recommend the Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-7-SA with their self adjusting brakes and the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K to complete the axle assemblies. These have a 6 on 5-1/2" lug pattern and will fit 14-1/2" to 16-1/2" wheels. You will need 2 of the hub and drum assemblies per axle, while the brake kit comes as a left and right set.
