Recommended Hitch For Towing A Winnebago Minnie Travel Trailer With a 2021 Chevrolet Colorado
Question:
I have a 2021 Chevy Colorado with a tow package. I am buying a Winnebago Minnie trailer in another state. My question is what kind of ball mount should I buy? I cant get the owner to give me the distance from the tongue of the trailer to the ground. The weight of the trailer is 2980 lbs. I am very concerned that I will get there and not have the right ball mount. Thank you

Since you will be towing a travel trailer I recommend using a Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37060ET with the Winnebago Minnie. The weight distribution system will allow you to adjust for different hitch heights with the adjustable head and shank. You will also be able to level your 2021 Chevrolet Colorado when you are towing to ensure that you do not get that light steering feel or any reduced braking due to the Colorado sagging in the rear. Finally built is sway control will ensure that your trailer pulls straight when you are driving down the road. It reduces the side to side motion of the trailer caused by high winds and large trucks on the roads. The system is rated for a trailer up to 6,000lbs with a tongue weight of 200-600lbs.
You will need a 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 to mount the included 2" hitch ball that comes with the kit. I recommend using Sway Bracket Jackets # EQ95-01-5150 with the hitch. These are designed to reduce the noise of the hitch as well as extend the life of the components by reducing metal on metal contact.
