Comparing Lippert Electronic Sway Control and Tuson Electronic Sway Control For 1977 31' Airstream

Question:

I have a 21 Ford Expedition XL with Max Trailer Tow Pkg and a 77 31foot Airstream Sovereign two axles. Im in the process of a full rebuild on the Airstream and Im wondering if the Tuscon or Lippert would be a better choice for sway control. After reading your previous comparison and recommendation of the Lippert system I wasnt sure how much the rewiring of the brakes was factoring into your recommendation. Being I have to rewire my brakes either way this wont be much of an inconvenience to me. I do play a premium on reliability and price however so unless the Tuscon system performs substantially better Id be inclined to go with the Lippert.

I would be happy to help!

Even though you will still be rewiring your 1977 31' Airstream Sovereign tandem axle trailer I still recommend going with the Lippert Sway Command Electronic Sway Control # LC380605 over the Tuson # 335TSC-1000.

The reason for this is the Lippert # LC380605 uses a built in gyroscope to detect sway and correct it before it occurs where the Tuscon # 335TSC-1000 uses preset algorithms that in my opinion are a bit less effective. Combine that with the fact that the Lippert # LC380605 is easier to install, and has a wide range of mounting locations it really seals the deal.

The only reason I would recommend going with the # 335TSC-1000 is if your trailer had more than two braking axles due to the Lippert option being limited to two braking axles.

I included a video of the # LC380605 for you to take a look at.
