If your 2010 Ford Ranger originally came with a 7-Way from the factory you would use # 74682 to replace it. If your truck came with a 4-Way wiring harness then to add a 7-Way you would use # ETBC7. A plug in type of harness for a brake controller is not available for the Ranger. A brake controller would have to be hardwired in. I have included some helpful links that explain the ETBC7 and hardwiring of a brake controller for you.
For a brake controller I recommend the Tekonsha P2, # 90885. It is an easy to set up and use brake controller and it is reliable. I have linked the manual for it for you to view.
