Microwave Circuit Breaker Size Recommendation

Question:

our 1000 watt high pointe microwave went out in RV. We would like to replace with a High Pointe 1450 watt convection/microwave. Microwave is on 15 amp circuit. Is this do-able? thanks

Typically microwaves are on 20 amp circuit. If it's on a 15 amp you'll most likely have issues with it tripping. I recommend switching to a 20 amp circuit breaker but you will also need to upgrade the wiring running from the breaker to the microwave to # 10-1-1. Failure to do so could result in an electrical fire.
