Can 2013 Mini Cooper Clubman FWD Automatic Be Dolly Towed Behind Class C RV?

Question:

We have a 2013 Mini Cooper Clubman front wheel drive automatic. We just bought a Class C RV. Can we tow the Mini with a dolly? If so, what do you recommend and are there any accessories we would need to purchase. Does a dolly require its own license plate? Thanks

Based on the information I could find in the owner's manual of your 2013 Mini Cooper Clubman FWD automatic it appears it can likely be dolly towed behind your new Class C RV, but I recommend checking with your local Mini dealer as the owner's manual only references emergency towing and makes zero mention of recreational towing.

The tow dolly I recommend is the Roadmaster Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes - 4,250 lbs # RM-2050-1 which will fit your Mini Clubman perfectly, and since your Clubman only weighs 2800lbs you will not be anywhere near the max weight rating of the dolly so you will have no issues.

This tow dolly uses electric trailer brakes but does not include a 7-way connector so you will need to add one using the # PK12706.

Now to control the electric trailer brakes your Class C RV will need to have a 7-way connector and a trailer brake controller. If you can tell me the Year/Make/Model of your RV I would be happy to recommend the correct components for you.

More than likely you will need to register and license the tow dolly, but that will be dependent on which state you live in. I recommend reaching out to your local DMV for clarification.

I included a video of the # RM-2050-1 for you to take a look at.
