New Brakes For Horse Trailer
Question:
Greetings, Looking for a new brake system to repair a stock horse trailer. See pictures attached, I believe this needs a typical 15inch backing plate, can you confirm? What other information do you need? Would the following be what I need: Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 9K to 10K Axles - 8 on 6-1/2 - Oil Bath - Before July 2009 Item # K08-288-90 Qty 4 Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - Self-Adjusting - 12-1/4inch - Left Hand - 9K to 10K Item # 23-450 Qty 2 Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - Self-Adjusting - 12-1/4inch - Right Hand - 9K to 10K Item # 23-451 Qty 2 Based on what you see on the pictures, do you recommend changing the back of the hub and drum assembly as well? Would this include the axle part where you install the bearings/hub/drum?

It does appear you have the correct parts listed for your project, depending on how far you want to take the R&R.
Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 9K to 10K Axles, # K08-288-90. Qty 4
Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - Self-Adjusting, # 23-450. Qty 2
Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - Self-Adjusting, # 23-451. Qty 2
Regarding "...do you recommend changing the back of the hub and ..." that is difficult to tell from your attached images. If you simply have typical surface corrosion and grim then I would not.
