Can The Cross Shaft For The etrailer Landing Gear Be Modified To Allow For A 8' Span?

RVLG-8000, how easy is it to modify the length of the cross shaft to 8 ft?

The cross shaft on the etrailer Landing Gear Set # RVLG-8000 would need to be replaced with longer square tubing to create a new cross shaft that can extend to 8 feet.
The cross shaft that comes with the landing gear has a maximum length of 72" when measured between the jacks, and can not be modified to make it longer.
