Does Higher Capacity Hitch for 2016 Jeep Cherokee Increase Towing Capacity
Question:
Hi we have jeep cherokee v6 latitude. Says 2000 lbs cap. Can we increase it by buying one of your hitches. If so can i get model number?

The towing capacity of any vehicle is always the lowest rated component in the setup. So you can certainly install a hitch with a higher weight capacity like the Curt # C13172 but you still would be limited to the 2,000 lb capacity overall.
The reason the hitches are rated higher is that they design a hitch to fit the vehicle and then do their best to make it as strong as possible and rate it independently of the vehicle which is where the difference comes from.
