Is the Yakima HandCuff Cable Lock Really Effective?
Question:
So, all someone needs is a hollow-core allen wrench $15 at Lowes and they can still steal the bikes? That does not seem very secure at all!? What am I missing here?

The idea behind the Yakima HandCuff Cable Lock for RidgeBack and SwingDaddy Bike Racks # Y02466 is to deter the theft of your bikes, not to completely eliminate the threat. It might be tempting for someone who is walking by your bike rack to steal it, but they might abandon that feeling when they see the cable lock. Unfortunately, if a thief wanted to steal anything, there is really no absolute deterrent from the crime occurring.
