The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885 thinks that a trailer is connected. If the P2 is hard wired into the vehicle you will want to break the connection of the blue wire leaving the brake controller. If the light changes to n.c. then you know that there is something wrong in the wiring on the vehicle. If the light stays on .c. with the blue wire disconnected then the brake controller is defective and needs replaced.
To find the damaged wiring in the brake line blue wire I suggest tracing as much of the wire as possible both inside and outside the vehicle. It could be a bad connection at the 7-way or a chafe in the wire where it passes through the bodywork.
