I have heard that roof mounts that attach to the rain gutters are NOT that strong and have a tendency to slip and move during travel! Please alleviate my fears on this. The only thing that seems to be available are tubular racks that must be attached to the jeeps body due to rear bumper fittings and fuel doors, which I am reluctant to change.

The best and easiest way to install a roof rack is via the gutter system on your 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with hard top. This is actually a very safe and secure way of installing a roof rack as I have not seen any customer feedback stating that their system has slipped off or anything of that nature. For this, I recommend going with the Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars Silver - 60" # TH711500 (or # TH711520 for Black) along with Gutter Feet # TH93ZR. The dynamic weight capacity is 175lbs (when vehicle is in motion) but make sure to never exceed the weight limit of your roof.

While the gutter-mount roof rack mentioned above is a great option, I will provide another option for installing a roof rack. The other system is mounted by drilling into your hard top and installing brackets to support the roof rack. For this you will need Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars 59" # RRVA150S-2 (or # RRVA150B-2 for Black) along with Legs # RRRLT600, BackBone Mounting System # RRRJKB1, and Bases # RRQMFK06. This route is much more involving and requires drilling as I mentioned earlier. It does provide a slightly higher weight capacity of 220lbs when vehicle is in motion, but make sure to not exceed your roof weight limit.

I attached demonstration videos to show you how each system installs and you can decide which route you want to go. I still prefer the gutter-mount as this is easier, more affordable, and does not require drilling into the hard top.

The Thule Aeroblade Traverse roof rack line was discontinued and replaced with the Wingbar Evo line which for your 2020 Ford F-250 which the part numbers #TH711500, #TH710501, and #TH29TX would be the correct fit for.
