Upgrading Factory Crossbars On 2019 Chevy Tahoe To Accommodate The Thule Hullavator TH898

Question:

I am looking for some type of lift assist to put a Hobie Outback on the roof of my 2019 Chevy Tahoe. I have the factory rack with cross bars with the factory side rails. What do I need to use the Thule Hullavator? Will it fit and work on factory cross bars. I read there needs to be 4-8inch overhang of bars and the factory bars do not overhang. They are even with the side rails. If I need to buy a thule roof rack to use this what is everything I need?

Since your 2019 Chevy Tahoe has factory side rails that the crossbars are connected to, you are able to install longer crossbars to gain the necessary 4" overhang on each side so that the Thule Hullavator # TH898 can be installed. I think your best option is to go with Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars Silver - 59" # RRVA150S-2 (or black # RRVA150B-2) along with the necessary Legs # RRRCH4 and Fit Kit # RRRCP43-BK. This will be long enough to accommodate the Hullavator and other accessories.

The weight capacity of this system is 220lbs and the online owner's manual that I checked out for your vehicle also shows a 220lb capacity for the roof rack, however, you can check your owner's manual to verify. I attached a helpful demonstration video for you to check out.
