Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch For 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500 With Puck System For 15,000 lb Trailer

Question:

I have a 2021 Chevy 2500 with a standard 6 foot 9 inch bed. I am towing a Jayco eagle 357mdok. Im unsure of what hitch and setup I need. The bed has the standard OEM puck system.

A sliding 5th wheel hitch is going to be needed for your 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500 with a 6 foot 9 inch bed as this will ensure you have the proper clearance to turn so that your trailer doesn't smash into your truck bed. Having said that, there is one option that I really like for your 15,000 lb GVWR Jayco Eagle that will make it seem like you don't have a sliding hitch at all, which is an autoslider from Demco:

- Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550034

- Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Chevy/GMC OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package # DM6333

The adapter is needed to mount the 18,000 lb capacity Hijacker in your Chevy's puck system, and once you do you'll have the best sliding 5th wheel hitch you can get, as you will never have to leave your truck's cab just to make a sharp turn, like you would with other sliding hitches.

That type of convenience alone makes the Hijacker # DM8550034 a great option, but what truly makes it the best hitch for you is that it also has an elite jaw system and cushioned head which means you get the most comfortable, quietest ride possible when traveling. The single-piece jaw totally encompasses the king pin, and its connection is reinforced via a 3/4" solid steel bar that locks into place once the jaw is closed. The reinforced jaw system is what will give you a much quieter, more comfortable ride with less rattling and slack in the jaws than other hitches.

I have added a link below to a video review for you to check out as well of the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550034.
