How to Hook Up a Factory Mopar Harness on a 2020 Grand Cherokee Without the Factory Tow Package
Question:
2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Does not have a factory trailer harness. I bought the mopar rear bumper with trailer connector 56055632AC. Looking to see if you sell a harness that will plug into the round factory trailer connector and allow me to hook up the electrical connections. Pic included below.

As your 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee did not come with the factory towing package, there will need to be some hardwiring that will need to be done. But don't panic, it is not as difficult as it will sound. I also have videos included that will significantly assist in the process.
You will need to start with a 4 Flat harness, like the Tekonsha # 118727. This will get power to the trailer lights, but to get the 7 Way working, you will need our Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controllers # ETBC7. This will piggyback off of the 4 Flat and I would usually say to use the included 7 Way that is included. In your case, however, you will need to get the Pollak # PK11998 as this will plug into the back of your Mopar trailer connector. This will require the 4 Flat plug to be cut off and then connected to the # PK11998. Again, this can look and sound pretty daunting at first, but everything will be included to get this done and the provided butt connectors make the connections quick and easy.
If your trailer does have electric brakes, I highly suggest going with the Tekonsha Primus IQ Proportional Brake Controller # TK90160. This is easy to use and set up and can handle up to 3 axles that have brakes on them.
