Does Spacer Plate Need to be Installed on Curt Friction Sway Control

Wasnt sure about the spacer plate. The video doesnt show it being mounted. Or did I miss something

It is not necessary to install the spacer plate when setting up the Curt Friction Sway Control # 17200. It i there to allow you to mount the attachment ball at different points if you like, but you can just mount the ball to the frame as well.
There is another option I like better that does not use any type of spacer plate or have one included, the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660.
This is a more straightforward install that doesn't come with parts (like a spacer plate) that you may or may not use, which is why I like it. I have added a link below to the instructions as well as a video review to check out of the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660.
