Locating Brake Stop Lamp Signal To Install Brake Controller on 2013 Cadillac SRX
Question:
2013 Cadillac SRX, which brake wire does the controller splice into? There are 6 wires from the bcm and very difficult to test. Any help would be greatly appreciated. P.S. I already have a factory installed 4 flat connector and have installed the universal 7 pin kit sold by you guys and now just need to figure out which wire off of the bcm is correct for the brake controller. The plug wire colors as shown in the photo, although a little difficult are yw/rd, blk/blu, yw, grn/yw, wht, blk.

I don't have any information about which wire color you're needing, but what you're looking for is the wire that only shows signal with the brake pedal pushed. In a situation where the brake stoplight switch isn't easily accessible, or can't be found I'd recommend installing an auxiliary switch like the part # RM-751441 offered by Roadmaster. These switches are typically used for flat towing a vehicle, but they'll also work perfectly for this purpose. The switch is simple to install and would be the perfect solution for this situation. One leg of the switch would attach to a power source, the other to the red brake controller wire.
