TireMinder TPMS Sensor Temperature Reading Accuracy

Question:

How accurate is the temperature readings? Seems to me the accuracy would be greatly affected by valve stem length and the material of the stem itself and wheel material. Or is it just reading ambient temperature? Or a calculation of rising or lowering of tire pressure?

The Brass Tire Sensors # TM-2Brass found inside the TireMinder i10 TPMS # TM56FR is reading the temperature of the air inside the tire. Yes this could vary due to the material and length of the valve stem but the variation from one tire to the others would remain unchanged. The main reason for the temperature sensor is to alert for temperature spikes that occur due to a misaligned tire in which the air pressure might not see a sudden spike or drop to alert the driver of a possibility of failure.

The sensors are rated to be within 6 degrees Fahrenheit accuracy.
