No Power on 7-Way Connector on 2000 Ford F-350 With Tekonsha Primus Brake Controller, # TK90160
Question:
still no power after installed does this need some type of relay to send power to trailer battery charge
asked by: Peter
Expert Reply:
If your F-350 did not come with a complete factory tow package you may need to install some additional fuses and relays to get power to your 7-way. Your owners manual or the lid of your fuse box should have legends showing which fuses/relays activate/protect which circuits. If you only need the fuses and relays you can obtain these from a local auto parts store.
If you prefer a complete kit with 30-amp fuses, relays and plug-in harness with 7-way connector, we offer the TowReady Custom Fit Harness, part # 118243. This kit is made specifically for your F-350 and plugs in to the OEM harness beneath the rear bumper. The harness includes an OEM connector on one end and a 7-way connector on the other. I have included a link to an installation video. Written instructions are included also.
If you need a replacement 7-way bracket, we offer part # PK12711U.
