Over All Width and Recommended 5.70-8 Wheel/Tire Combo for 1989 Palomino Colt Pop-Up Camper

Question:

I need to know the size width of the camper. I may have to haul it on a trailer so needed to know what size trailer it would fit. I need to get tires and wheels for it. The ones on it currently are dry rotted and rusted. it has 5.70-8 sure trail tires on a 4 bolt white wheel. It is in another location so Im not sure about the lug pattern. If you could provide info on the tires and wheels i need or how wide this camper is that would be so helpful. Ive been researching and cant even find a manual online for this year model. Thanks

I couldn't find a manual, either but I did find some info that you'll find helpful.

From what I found online, the 1989 Palomino is a total of 7 feet 1 inch wide, a length of 17 feet and a dry weight of 1215 lbs. For a 5.70-8 tire, the load range you need will depend on the GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) of the camper, or the maximum weight that the trailer itself and everything loaded upon it can weight before things start going bad. A load range D tire which has a 1075 lb per tire/2150 lb per axle weight capacity should be perfect. We offer that tire mounted on an 8 x 3-3/4 inch white powder coated wheel with a 4 lug wheel bolt pattern (what's shown in your photo) as part # AM30153, so that's what I'd recommend you go with as a replacement.

I'll link to a product description video for the wheel/tire I recommended, where our resident wheel/tire expert will run through the specifications and features of the tire.
