Trailer Brakes Won't Work with Manual Override Using Curt Echo Smart Phone App
Question:
Thanks for the great instructional videos. My 2003 Tundra only has 4-wire trailer connection. I installed a 4-wire to 7-wire conversion. I installed a 40A breaker and wiring from the battery to the 12-V power black wire on the 7-pin connector. I purchased a Curt Echo controller. The LED on the Curt shows solid blue, it pairs with my phone, the trailer lights work when connected thru the Echo but I get no brake function pressing the red buttoninch on the phone app. The trailer brakes have an emergency break-away switch powered by a separate battery on the trailer. When I manually operate the breakaway switch, the trailer brakes work. The instructions with the controller say the LED on the Echo should be solid Green when the trailer is pairedinch Im not seeing this. I am using the default settings in the profile. Suggestions on what to try next? Thanks.

I spoke with my contact in the Tech Services department at Curt Manufacturing who recommends deleting the Echo app from your phone, clearing the cache on your phone's internet browser, then reinstalling the app. This should fix the issue you're experiencing.
