Safety Cable Length For Included Cables With etrailer # e44ZR Tow Bar
Question:
Im considering using this tow bar with a mechanical surge brake system that installs between the tow bar and tow vehicle hitch. This would add roughly 12inch of length and Id like to know if the included safety cables are long enough to accomodate that extra length? How long are the included cables? Is this tow bar e44ZR compatable with the Roadmaster Baseplate RM-521424-4? That baseplate is the crossbar style.

Expert Reply:
The Roadmaster # RM-521424-4 crossbar-style base plate is an EZ4 Series, so it will connect with the etrailer # E44ZR tow bar.
Regarding the safety cables included in the etrailer tow bar; they measure 54-1/2" in legnth. The snap hooks measure 4" each. From the picture it looks like they are just the right length with a little to spare on each end. If you were looking for something longer you could use the Roadmaster # RM-646 cables that measure 64" each.
