Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Hooks Conflict with Caliper Brakes

Question:

Hi I just received the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack SH22G. It assembled without a problem and looks like a well-designed accessory. However, I am concerned about the way the hooks engage the front tire of the bikes. Both bikes have caliper style brakes on the front wheels. On one, first photo the hook can only go in front of the brake and on the other the hook will fit between the brake and the front post but it looks like the hook will bend the brake forward if there is any movement of the bike during transport. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!

There shouldn't be too much movement when using the Sherpa # SH22G if the back strap is nice and tight. I don't see there being any damage caused by the first picture you've provided. It seems like you have fenders on that bike. You will have to remove the fender so the hook makes contact with the tire. Wheel hooks are designed to go up against your brake and synch down on the tire. If you remove the fender, you won't see any damage to your bikes.
