Recommended Flat Towing Spare Tire Carrier for Dually Wheels

It is possible to mount 16inch dually by reversing tire and using a stack of washers and longer bolts. Do you see any issues with this?

Roadmaster doesn't recommend altering the # RM-195125 spare tire carrier by reversing the wheel and using longer bolts and washers that would move the wheel further out from the carrier.

Moving the load further rearward would reduce the tongue weight capacity of the carrier to an unknown degree, which could possibly damage the carrier. Instead, they recommend using the # RM-195225 carrier which has a higher, 400 lb tongue weight rating and is compatible with all wheel bolt patterns.

Since you have a dually wheel with a larger bolt pattern the Roadmaster spare tire carrier you'd want instead is the part #RM-195225 and not the #RM-195125.

The Roadmaster spare carrier part #RM-195125 was actually designed with the Sprinter in mind so it would work great for what you are looking for and would allow the rear doors to open when the rack was swung down.
