Trailer Brake Controller Recommended for 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL
Question:
I already have had a trailer hitch and 4-pin plug installed on my 2018 Wrangler JL. I am purchasing a camper and need to get a trailer brake controller. Can you tell me the best hardware to purchase for this. I would prefer the control module that is installed so that it is hid away. There is little extra room in the compartment leg room to have something taking up more room. Thanks

The Redarc Tow Pro Elite you'd looked at, part # RED44FR would be an excellent choice. The control unit of the controller mounts under the dash so it's out of sight and not in the way, and the control knob would install within easy reach of the driver. If there's an unused switch knockout in the dash, that's the best place to install it. The controller even includes a bezel that would make the installation look like it came from the factory.
To install the controller, you'll need our # ETBC7 installation kit which includes the adapter to convert the existing 4-pole to a 7-way, as well as all the hardware, wire and circuit breakers needed to complete the installation. I've linked to a video showing how the Tow-Pro Elite works as well as a video showing a different controller being installed on a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL. Although a different controller is shown, the video explains in detail how the install kit is used on this vehicle.
