Question:

Thanks Kyle. Can you also provide a similar breakdown for the Thule Hitching Post 4?

For your 2017 Subaru Outback, the Thule Camber 4-Bike Rack # TH9056 is a really nice option and will work perfectly with the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76227.

The reason for that is, when we installed this hitch on a 2017 Outback, we found it measured 3 inches from the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper, and the Camber measures 7 inches from the hitch pin to the closest part of the rack, so you'll have plenty of room for the rack to fit without any interference.

The only other thing I want to mention, since you mentioned you will be doing some trailer towing at some point, is that to add a 4-way trailer harness to your 2017 Outback, the correct part is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118467.

If you'd like to take a look, I have added links below to a video install for you to check out of the Draw-Tite Hitch # 76227, as well as a video review of the Thule Camber 4-Bike Rack # TH9056.

Happy to help, and I can offer you the same dimensions for the Thule Hitching Post Pro 4-Bike Rack # TH934XTR. The Hitch Post Pro measures a little further out than the Camber, measuring 10 inches from the hitch pin to the closet part of the rack. Between the two racks though, I do recommend the Thule Camber 4-Bike Rack # TH9056. There are a couple of reasons for that, starting with the Camber's superior anti-sway cradles that use ratcheting straps to ensure the tightest hold on your bikes, compared to the Hitch Post's cradles which have pre-cut holes. The Camber's arms are also closer together, which allows for easier bike loading, and the Camber has a slightly higher capacity at 37-1/2 lbs per bike compared to 35 lbs for the Hitching Post. The only other thing I recommend, in order to lock either of the racks to your hitch, is adding the Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device # THSTL2.
