Recommended Trailer Brake Controller For 2019 Winnebago Forza 38F Motorhome
Question:
I’m looking to add a electric brake control to my 2019 Winnebago Forza 38F. Most of the time I tow a 2016 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 with the DM86VR installed. I want the system hardwired in but don’t want it to interfere with my dolly tow. Do you have any sujestions?

For your 2019 Winnebago Forza 38F I recommend adding the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 due to its extreme reliability, and its great features like an easy to read LCD screen and built in diagnostics that are easy to read and understand.
While your 38F has a factory 7-way connector I was unable to find if it is prewired for a trailer brake controller so you will need to run the wiring yourself. To do this you will need a length of # 10-2-1 which is sold by the foot, and a 20 amp circuit breaker # 9506P if the trailer you plan on towing has 1-2 braking axles, or a 30 amp circuit breaker # PK54530 if the trailer you are planning on towing has 3-4 braking axles.
You will run the black wire of the # 10-2-1 from the positive terminal of your battery to the circuit breaker, and then inside of the cab, while the white wire goes from the negative terminal of your battery to your cab.
Next you will need # 10-1-1 to run from the brake output pin of your 7-way connector which is the 5 o'clock pin as shown in the included diagram, to the cab.
Lastly using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 you will need to find the cold side wire of your stop light switch that only has power when the brake pedal is pressed.
With all of the wiring run you will make the following connections:
Black wire of # 10-2-1 to black wire of # 90195
White wire of # 10-2-1 to white wire of # 90195
# 10-1-1 brake output wire to blue wire of # 90195
Red wire of # 90195 to cold side of stop light switch.
Installing the # 90195 will not interfere with the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System w/ Wireless Coachlink Monitor # DM86VR you have installed on your 2016 Toyota Tacoma 4x4.
I included a video of the # 90195 for you to take a look at.
