For starters, you'll need to determine which truck you have. 2000 was a split model year with both the C/K series and the Silverado being produced. The C/K series was the end of the previous truck generation, and the Silverado was an all-new model. To make things even more confusing, the C/K series offered a Silverado package that was just a trim package, and not the name of the vehicle. If you're unsure of what you have, there are plenty of online VIN decoders that will help straighten it out.

If you have a Silverado, you'd use the # 3025-P to plug your # TK90160 Tekonsha Primus brake controller into the junction box behind the black cover located behind the emergency brake pedal as shown in the linked video. Since you mentioned a tow package, this is likely the scenario you're dealing with.

If you have the C/K series, you'll need to hardwire in the brake controller as the vehicle doesn't have a connector under the dash. For starters, you'll need a functional 4-pole trailer connector to provide easy access to the taillight circuits if you don't already have one. The Tekonsha # 118315 is an inexpensive and easy way to do this. You'll then need our # ETBC7 brake controller installation kit which includes an adapter to convert the 4-pole into a 7-way. The kit also includes is all the wire, hardware and circuit breakers needed to complete the installation. If you don't still have the pigtail that came with Primus brake controller, you'll need that as well. It's available as part # 20127.

I've linked to some installation videos that will walk you through the process, whether you have the Silverado or the C/K series.
