How To Jump Start Battery Using Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger

Question:

I have a 2017 F250 towing a 27ft TT with 2 100ah house batteries. I am trying to have a trailer house-battery charger and jumper cable set up for the truck that can be turned on and off when needed. I wanted to know if I could install BDW20206 in the rear of the truck and a DBW20205 in the front isolated by a battery isolator turned on and off by one of the upfitter switches in the cab?

The Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger part # 331-BCDC1240D is a great option for charging a trailer battery. It sounds like you are concerned with the status of the starter battery and if that is case there is no need to worry as there are built-in safeguards to prevent puling power from the start battery when it gets below a certain voltage. If for some reason the start battery does die, you can use the auxiliary battery to jump start this with the Redarc Smart Start Battery Isolator with Wiring Kit part # 331-SBI12KIT. The jump start could even be wired to an unfitting switch in the cab. The Bulldog Winch Rear Wiring Kit part # BDW20206 will work great to carry the current from the vehicle to trailer.

If you want to use front and rear winch wiring kits along with a separate battery isolator I do this this would be possibly as well though you'd have more parts and the cost would exceed the above option designed by Redarc.
