Recommended 7-Way Connector And Trailer Brake Controller For 2013 Nissan Frontier W/O Tow Package
Question:
Hi. I have a 2013 Nissan Frontier SV 4x4 with no factory tow equipment. I currently have an aftermarket through you, actually flat 4 connection system that I use with a pop-up camper. Im looking to upgrade, and put on a brake system. If I purchase the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller 90195 what else do I need to make this connection since Im presumably going from a 4 to a 7, and the corresponding Part 118266 would need something else, correct? Or would those two alone be sufficient? Thanks

I would be happy to recommend all of the components you will need to add a 7-way connector to your 2013 Nissan Frontier SV 4x4 without the factory tow package.
You are correct that you will need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector # 118266 to replace your current 4-way connector and give you the 7-way connector needed for a trailer with trailer brakes.
The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 you mentioned is a great choice as it is an extremely reliable trailer brake controller, but there are a few more components you will need to complete the installation.
You will need the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers # 3050-P which will plug into the factory port under the dash of your Frontier, and the directly into the # 90195.
Next you will need the Mounting Bracket and Installation Hardware # PK12711U to mount the # 118266 to your trailer hitch. If your trailer hitch does not have the mount for the bracket you will also need the No-Drill Mount for Electrical Mounting Bracket # 18140.
I included videos for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at .
