Dash Lights Flashing with Turn Signals Using Curt Trailer Wiring harnes # C55513
Question:
When I first installed this it worked fine pulled 2 different trailers without a problem. Without a trailer hooked up I was checking the 4 way flashers and the dash and park lights were blinking as if the unit was getting a ground thru other lights. I cleaned and replace the ground terminal. No changes. Also caused dash and park lights to flash when right turn signal was activated even with left side removed from circut. Removed the device and all lights work properly. Got any suggestions?

This sounds like a bad ground problem. Make sure that the wiring harness converter box is attached to a non-painted clean and corrosion free bare metal surface. Also make sure that the 4-Way on the vehicle and trailer sides are free of corrosion.
To determine if there is something wrong in the converter box you will need a circuit tester like # PTW2979. You will need to test the wiring going into the converter first. If it is not correct then you know there is a problem with the vehicle wiring. If the signals are correct going into the converter, the next step is testing the wires coming out. If the signals are not correct coming out then the converter is bad and it will need to be replaced.
If the signals are correct coming out of the converter then the problem is on the trailer side and you will want to check the grounds for each light, the main trailer connector, and look for nicks in the wiring that may be touching the metal of the trailer frame.
