Is Fixed 5th Wheel Hitch Or Slider 5th Wheel Hitch Required For 2020 Ram 2500 Short Bed W/ OEM Pucks

I have the 2020 Dodge Big Horn short bed 6.5 foot Have 2021 Northwood Fox Mountain 23RLS fifth wheel. Getting conflicting answers about whether I can use Companion BWRVK3600 fixed hitch or do I really need the BWRVK3670 slider. I have puck system on the Dodge truck. Thanks

Since your 2020 Ram 2500 Big Horn short bed has the OEM puck system you will want to go with the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider for Ram Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20K # BWRVK3670 unless your 2021 Northwood Fox Mountain 23RLS 5th Wheel has a rotating pin box.
The reason for this is a truck with less than an 8' bed will have less cab to trailer clearance and using a fixed hitch can cause the trailer to contact the cab of your truck if you aren't careful when turning. Using a slider hitch will allow you to move the trailer further back when turning to allow you to make sharper turns.
If your trailer has a rotating pin box you would need the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 25,000 lbs # BWRVK3600 instead since when using a rotating pin box the pivot point is moved from the king pin to where the pin box attaches to the trailer meaning you will have increased cab to trailer clearance making it where you do not need a slider hitch. You would need Wedge # SWW-06 to use this hitch with a rotating pin box.
If your trailer does not have a rotating pin box it is possible to add one. All I would need is the serial number of your current pin box to determine which model pin box you have. The serial number can be found on a sticker attached to pin box.
