Recommended Solution to Add Gooseneck Hitch to 2008 Chevy Silverado 3500 with Reese Elite Under Bed

Question:

i have a 2008 Chevy 3500HD 8bed with a Reese 30082 under bed rail kit for under bed pucks and a Reese 30156 hitch mounting plate installed in the pucks so I could use my existing 5th wheel hitch over. Does somebody make an under bed gooseneck hitch that would bolt to my existing rails. /if not your thoughts on a under bed gooseneck hitch that i could install. Thank you.

I have a solution for you to add a gooseneck hitch, but there is not a product available that I'm aware of that will fit under the bed with the system you've mentioned.

I do believe you've got the Reese Elite Series underbed kit # RP30082 which was designed for Reese Elite and Signature series 5th wheel hitches. Since you have that, the Reese Elite Series Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch - 25,000 lbs # RP30845 will drop into those pucks that you've got and allow you to tow a gooseneck trailer. You will be limited to the capacity of the RP30082 kit that according to my sources is 18,000-lbs, but it will allow you to tow a trailer with a gooseneck coupler.

I've linked a review video of this gooseneck adapter for you to check out.
