Roof Rack for 2005 Mazda Tribute With Raised Side Rails for Rooftop Tent

Hello. I have a Mazda Tribute 2005 and i would like to put a roof tent in there. I only have the original racks and i dont know if changing them would be ok or i would be still on risk? Another company told me even changing them is not safe... Thank you so much

A rooftop tent may be possible for your 2005 Mazda Tribute, but it will need to have raised side rails to install a roof rack and not the factory roof rack. So if raised side rails is what you were referring to by "original racks" then you will be able to install a rooftop tent, the Yakima SkyRise HD Tent for Roof Rack Crossbars - 3 Person # Y07437 or 2 Person # Y07436.

What you would need is a roof rack that attaches to those raised rails and has a 165 lb capacity, which we do offer with the Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack # MPG215.
