How To Upgrade Curt Q20 5th Wheel Hitch With Fixed Base to Slider Base.

Question:

I have a Curt Q20 hitch with a chevy puck system for my 2018 chevy 2500hd. Would like to switch to a slider. What would I have to buy and what can i reuse off the hitch I currently have? Thanks!

I assume that you want a slider because you have a short bed truck. To change to a slider, utilizing as much of the parts that you already have you will need to order the Curt # C16023 Adapter and a Curt # C16560 Tube Slider which will replace your fixed position mount.

Curt recommends the application of a silicone spray lubricant like Roadmaster # RM-747 applied to the guide rods to facilitate easier movement. Grease and oil are not recommended because it will attract road grime and will impede the movement of the head eventually.
