Which Brake Assemblies Come with the Dexter Trailer Axle 8327834
Question:
Where can I find just the brakes from below? Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes - E-Z Lube - 8 on 6-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 95 - 7,000 lbs Item # 8327834-EB

Expert Reply:
The Dexter Trailer Axle with Electric Brakes and EZ Lube Spindles # 8327834-EB uses electric brakes # 23-180 (left hand side) and # 23-181 (right hand side). These are manual adjustment brakes so you may also need the Brake Adjustment Spoon for Drum Brakes # W80630 and if you need to replace the brake mounting hardware you'll also need # BRKH12.
If you wanted a self adjusting brake set, the # AKEBRK-7-SA would also work to replace those brakes and do a great job. They're going to be a much easier for installation and maintenance from the standpoint of not needing any adjustment after they're installed.
I've linked an installation video and some part review videos of these that you also might be interested in.
