Flat Towing A 2016 Jeep Wrangler
Question:
What do I need to flat-tow my 2016 Wrangler?

Vehicles like your 2016 Jeep Wrangler are popular choices for flat-towing behind a motorhome. To be able to do so requires several parts:
You'll need a tow-bar like the Blue Ox Avail # BX7420 which along with being a popular and excellent tow bar, it also includes a pair of safety chains. You'll need a compatible baseplate like the # BX1126. Please note, this baseplate is for 2016 Jeep Wranglers with a standard factory bumper, if this does not describe your Wrangler, please let me know the specific trim level or style your vehicle has and I'll be glad to recommend the right baseplate for you.
You'll also need a flat-towing wiring harness to connect the Jeep's electrical components (i.e., lights, etc.) to the motorhome, such as the Hopkins # HM56200. This harness is an excellent custom product for your 2016 Jeep Wrangler because it is designed to plug in directly to your Wrangler's wiring.
You'll need a braking system like the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR which will include a breakaway cable. The Patriot ensures that the brakes in your towed car are activated at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your RV, keeping your Wrangler safe and in sync as you travel.
