Swing Away System For 2021 Subaru Outback Wagon

I would like to fit a Thule Apex XT Swing on my 2021 Outback with OEM hitch shallow hitch. Is there an extension mechanism I can use for this hitch?

We can take some measurements to see if a hitch extension is even necessary for your 2021 Subaru Ouback Wagon. Measure from the hitch pin hole to your bumper. If the measurement is 7-1/4 inches or more you do not need a hitch extender. I try to not use a hitch extender because it cuts the capacity of your hitch in half. Here is an extension if that's the route you want to take # HE06. Just make sure that the rack and all of your bikes will not exceed 300lbs of tongue weight. When using the extender it will reduce your TW capacity from 600lbs to 300lbs.

If the measurement is more than 7-1/4 inches but under 9 inches, then you can use the Yakima FullSwing # Y02465. Both are great options but the deciding factor will be the hitch pin hole measurement.
