Weight of Head and Base of Curt A20 5th Wheel Hitch for 2017 Ram 2500 Long Bed With Puck System

Question:

I would like to know the weight of the coupler and the weight of the base used for a ram puck system Curt A20 5th wheel hitch. I intend to use my truck bed without the hitch as well as using it to tow, so I have to be able to take it out.

The weight of the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package # C16044 is overall 185 lbs, with it being pretty evenly distributed - the head unit weighs 100 lbs while the base weighs 85 lbs.

This hitch - which is a fit for your 2017 Ram 2500 long bed with the factory puck system - is pretty manageable by 5th wheel hitch standards as some are much heavier. It may take a couple people but it is certainly able to be removed from your truck bed.

Aside from being easier to remove than other hitches, the A20 is a better option than most as well due to its unique and strong interlocking dual jaw system that wraps totally around your king pin to minimize noise and rattle. It also has a handy color-coded indicator system which will let you know if the jaws on the hitch are ready to couple, uncouple or tow, so it is easy to use.

I have added a link below for you to check out as well if you'd like of the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package # C16044.
