Pigtail With Inline Diode Needed for Brake Controller Installation on 2018 Toyota Highlander
Question:
I understand there was an issue with the 2018 Toyota Highlander in that it required a diode inline on the brake light sensor. Can you tell me if this is still required with the Tekonsha P3 Electronic Brake Control 90195.

Yes it is. You'll need the # 7865 pigtail that has the diode in the brake stop lamp switch circuit to prevent the controller from feeding back into the vehicle wiring.
To install the Tekonsha P3 # 90195 on your 2018 Highlander, you'll also need the # ETBC7 install kit. If your Highlander doesn't already have a 4-pole trailer wiring harness, you'll need to install one using part # 118449.
