Recommended 4 way to 5 way adapter for 2014 Ford Explorer

Hi, I only have a 4 way flat connector and the trailer has 5. Is there a connector I can use and where do I find the wire for the 5th pin which I believe is the reverse light. THank you!

In order to use your 2014 Ford Explorer's 4 way with a trailer that has a 5 way connector you'll want to use the Curt Trailer Connector Adapter - 4-Way Flat to 5-Way Flat - Vehicle End # C57187. You'll just want to tap into the reverse light circuit on your vehicle, as you mentioned, to make the additional connection live for the trailer wiring.

You can find the reverse light circuit by tapping into the wire of the reverse light on your tail lights.

I checked with Curt and they list wiring harness #C56278 as a fit for all styles of the 2013 Ford Explorer so that would include models with or without the factory tow package.
