Recommended Wider Tire Upgrade for Small Trailer Tires 4.80x12

Question:

I have a 3.5ft x 5ft trailer from lowes carry-on trailer. Upgrading small trailer tires from 4.80x12 I was hoping to get a wider tire. Ive read that I can go up to 14inch tires, but thats just the rim size. Im lost in regards to the overall circumference on the 14ich vs the OEM. Ive seen some wider tires like 20.5 x 8.0 -10 which seems to have a smaller rim, but overall size looks the same as the original tires. Its about 3 inches wider. Im wondering if thats a good option, or what would your recommendations be?

Your current tires have a width of 4.8" with outer diameter (when inflated) of 20.7". The Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" White Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range D # AM3H430 have the same bolt pattern and re 20.6 inches diameter with 8.3 inch width. This is a smaller rim but the overall dimensions will be good for your trailer.

If you want the same size wheel then I recommend the Kenda Karrier S-Trail ST145/R12 Radial Tire w/ 12" White Spoke Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - LR D # AM31199DX. This has a diameter of 21.3 inches and a width of 5.7 inches.
